Laina Brown is a Winnipeg-based Director of Photography and Associate Member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers, and the Head of Cinematography and co-owner of Folks Films. Her work spans television, fine art, narrative, comedy, music, and documentary, with credits including the CBC web series Les faillites d’Astrid, Big Small Town (Bell Fibe TV1), and Ghost Kitchens, as well as award-winning projects such as Model Citizens (Golden Sheaf Award for Comedy) and Phenomena (Best Cinematography, Manitoba 48 Hour Film Festival). Her fine art film Mother-Ground, created with Dominique Rey, premiered at the Winnipeg Art Gallery and was acquired by the National Gallery of Canada, and she is the cinematographer on the upcoming feature documentary The Art of Social Architecture (2026).
